Lögmannsstofa Norðurlands ehf. - LegalNorth was founded in 2002 by attorney Ólafur Rúnar Ólafsson. In January 2019, Lögmannsstofa Norðurlands and Ás lögmannsstofa, owned by attorney Sunna Axelsdóttir, merged their forces under the banner of Lögmannsstofa Norðurlands. In August 2019, attorney Birgir Örn Guðmundsson joined the firm. Erla Ormarsdóttir then began working as office manager in June 2021.

Ólafur Rúnar is an experienced lawyer and litigator. For years, he has provided legal advice in the field of business, negotiated contracts in the field of corporate and financial law, as well as being a legal advisor to various municipalities in all kinds of matters and contracts, such as personnel matters, tender and contractor law, and administration.
Ólafur Rúnar has worked as a lawyer for a decade and a half and was the mayor of Eyjafjörður Municipality for two years from 2016 to 2018. He has also represented dozens of cases before district courts and the Supreme Court of Iceland and has acted as an advocate for regulatory authorities. Ólafur Rúnar was admitted to the Supreme Court of Iceland in 2011.
Sunna Axelsdottir

Sunna has extensive experience in a variety of legal areas and has worked in that field since 2012, including contract law, real estate, local government, administrative law, tort law, and more. She has extensive experience in litigation and handling cases in court, as well as in dealing with public offices and institutions.
Sunna started her own business, Áss Law Firm, in 2017, which merged with Lögmannstofa Norðurlands in January 2019. Sunna was admitted to the district court in 2014.
Birgir Orn Gudmundsson

Birgir graduated with a degree in law (cand. juris) from the University of Iceland in June 2003 and has since gained diverse experience in legal work in the public sector and in the legal profession. He has provided legal advice to individuals and companies and has also handled litigation and case processing before courts and governments.
Birgir joined the North Iceland Law Firm in August 2019. He was admitted to the District Court in 2004.
